Old Greenwich School principal Jen Bencivengo is always creative with her back-to school events, and this year she invited the entire school community including Board of Education chair Joe Kelly, State Rep Steve Meskers (D-150) whose district runs along the shoreline, and members of the Old Greenwich School building committee to participate in a community walk around Tod’s Point.
The weather could not have been more perfect for the group of about 75 who turned out, including families with kids in Dutch bikes, kids on scooters, and of course the school mascot, Mack the Dolphin.
Everyone was encouraged to show their “Dolphin pride” by wearing the school colors, blue and white.
“We’re the school on the shore,” said Bencivengo, whose ten-year-old daughter joined the fun. “What could be better than a walk around the park to celebrate the start of the school year?”
