Riverside Man Known to Police Arrested Twice Over the Weekend

A Riverside man known to Greenwich Police has been arrested again, and again.

On Saturday morning police spotted a Jeep Gladiator speeding east on East Putnam Ave, rapidly accelerating past other cars, tailgating and making a lane change without signaling.

During a motor vehicle stop near Robertson Lane in Cos Cob, the driver, identified as Ernest Drupals, 48, of Carrona Drive in Riverside, exited his vehicle and began cursing at the officer and using obscene gestures, all in the presence of numerous adult and children bystanders.

Drupals was charged with Breach of Peace 2, Improper Turn and Reckless Driving. His bond was set at $850 and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 23, 2020.

Drupals’ second arrest followed an incident on Sunday afternoon when police responded to Carrona Drive on a report of Harassment. Officers determined that Drupals had parked his car in front of a neighbor’s driveway and was playing loud music and using obscene language toward the complainants, “causing inconvenience, annoyance and alarm.”

Drupals then responded to Greenwich Police headquarters and was placed under arrest for Breach of Peace 2. For this charge, Drupals bond was set at $1,000.

Back in January Drupals was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2 and Breach of Peace for an incident on Carrona Drive, and Disorderly Conduct for an incident later the same day at Town Hall.
