The Resurgence of Thrifting Draws Treasure Hunters to Greenwich

The renewed focus on thrifting is driven in party by a reaction against fast fashion and a desire for sustainability, especially among the young people. There are three popular thrift shops in Greenwich: Rummage Room in Old Greenwich, The Marketplace by Fofie and Mia’s in Byram, and the Greenwich Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Chickahominy.

Pelagic Kids Fishing Camp: Youth Age 8 to 18 Learn to Catch Fish in Long Island Sound

Campers head out on camp boats – the Pelagic Beast in Greenwich – to explore the waters of the Long Island Sound, for a complete, unique outdoor experience. Guided by Coast Guard licensed captains daily, children are taught the basic fundamentals needed to catch their own fish.

Greenwich High School Student Completes SoundWaters Research Intensive

A Greenwich high school student spent this spring conducting hands-on marine research through the SoundWaters Research Intensive (SRI), studying topics ranging from kelp farming to biodiversity. Their work offers a compelling look at how students are engaging with local environmental issues and Long Island Sound.

The North Street Bridge over West Brothers Brook in Greenwich is undergoing a $4.52 million replacement project that includes a full road closure from June 8 through August 28, 2026. Estimated Completion is spring 2027.
