At the CIAC Class LL boys outdoor track championships in New Britain on May 30, the Cardinals celebrated earning the team title, finishing ahead of rivals from Hamden. But the win was overturned by CIAC after a religious accommodation allowed a Hamden athlete to compete in the MM meet the following day, Sunday and have his points apply to the previous day’s event. The situation is unprecedented. GHS athletes and parents asked the CIAC to review how the situation was handled.

At the Historical Society’s 2016 Landmarks event on April 17th, five properties will be plaqued, including the historically significant Mill in Glenville, and 4 homes. One of them was built by JP Morgan for his daughter. Keynote speaker will be Frank J. Prial, Jr., AIA, one of America’s foremost architects in the preservation movement. The Ashforth Family has a long and storied history of support for Greenwich Library. In 1895, Henry’s great grandmother Elizabeth Milbank Anderson gave the town funds for the first building for the library in memory of her parents, Jeremiah and Elizabeth Lake Milbank if the Library provided “free service to all town residents”.
