Justin Quagliani, 38

Greenwich Police are remembering one of their own.

Greenwich Police Officer Justin Quagliani, who died on Tuesday morning, started his career with the Greenwich Police Dept Department on March 30, 2015.

He was 38 years old.

In a memo to all GPD personnel on Wednesday, Chief Heavey said prior to becoming a police officer, Officer Quagliani served in the US Army Reserve for 10 years as a Military Police Sergeant. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Detainee Air Transportation Team leader responsible for conducting convoy security operations and executing aerial transportation missions of convicted detainees. he received numerous awards and certifications during his tenure in the Reserves.

Officer Quagliani served in the Patrol Division where he received a Divisional Letter of Commendation and Letter of Recognition. His personnel file contains numerous letters from citizens commending him on his outstanding performance and service to the community. In 2019 he received a commendation for saving the life of a resident by performing CPR.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Dec 22, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Knapp Funeral Home, 27 Greenwich Ave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec 23 at 10:30am at St Michael’s Church, 469 North Street in Greenwich with internment immediately following at St. John’s Cemetery located at 25 Camp Ave in Darien.
