The Greenwich High School Former Attire Club, a group of girls who collect donated long gowns, cocktail dresses and tuxedos throughout the year for their annual Prom Dress giveaway at Neighbor to Neighbor will hold a “Drop and Shop” event at Susan Hanover Designs on 89 Greenwich Ave on Thursday, March 15 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
At the Drop and Shop experience, Susan Hanover will be handing out $50 gift cards to anyone who drops off a dress or tuxedo off at the store.
“I was so touched to hear about this organization run by seniors in the Greenwich High School,” said Ms. Hanover. “Philanthropy should start young and be a part of our careers and our working life. These young ladies are showing their peers just how to do it.”
Susan Hanover Designs is a new jewelry store on Greenwich Ave that specializes in styling earrings for special events such as prom, red carpet and the like.
“We are so excited to kick off the Prom Drive with this event! Teaming up with Susan Hanover just seemed like the perfect fit for us,” said Former Attire co-president, Audrey Brandes.
“It’s a great opportunity to start your spring cleaning early and donate, while also getting to shop Susan’s designs!” said Kate Piotrowski, co-president of the club.
Kate said this year the girls are eager to accept dresses of all lengths and seasons, everything from full length gowns to summer dresses for girls and women.
“We’re also hoping for donations of tuxedos, tuxedo shirts, dress shoes, bow ties and ties,” she added.
The actual Prom Drive will be at Tomes Higgins House (216 E Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT 06830), adjacent to Neighbor to Neighbor Greenwich, April 5th 3-5pm, April 6th 3-5pm and April 7th 9am-1pm. All high school students in the area and neighboring towns are invited to come and pick up a free dress or tux.
Susan Hanover Designs is located at Susan Hanover Designs on 89 Greenwich Ave (located between CVS and Sephora).
