UPDATE: Team Tide Point Capital Management Wins Boys & Girls Club 3-on-3 Hoops Tourney

Original Story: It’s a busy week at Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. On Monday the club kicked off the start of ZAC Camp, which continues throughout the week.

On Thursday the Club is hosting its ninth annual 3-on-3 Corporate Basketball Challenge on Thursday night at the Clubhouse.

Over 190 corporate basketball enthusiasts, Club representatives and alumni from Fairfield County and New York, will play in the tournament, which doubles as a fundraiser for Club programs which focus on academic success, good character & citizenship and healthy lifestyles.

The winning team receives the coveted championship title and trophy. Last year’s champions represented Gittleson & Associates, CPAs.

To kick off this event, Club members, age 8-12 will participate in a basketball clinic hosted by NBA professional Phaethon Bolton, Club alumnus and former Wake Forest Division-1 basketball player. The clinic is free for the first 30 members and kids will learn how to dribble, shoot and pass.

This ‘NBA wannabe’ corporate tournament starts at 5:00 pm with an indeterminable end time.

“We look forward to this high energy competition every year because the kids get a chance to see their community leaders actively playing a competitive game of basketball in support of them,” said Bobby Walker, Jr. BGCG CEO. “It also raises awareness about the Club’s valuable services, accumulates the financial support needed to run these programs and is a great networking forum for the area’s business leaders,”

BGCG Board volunteers and BGCG teens will keep score and spectators are welcome to attend. There is still a chance to get involved. For more information, visit bgcg.org.
