PHOTOS: Creativity on Display in Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival 2024

Saturday was the annual Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival at Greenwich Point. For some families it was their first time competing. Other families executed carefully formulated engineering plans that required sturdy shovels and sculpting tools. And some creations came with inventive narratives as only small children might imagine. Andrew Karen, recreation supervisor from the Greenwich Parks & Rec Dept, led a team across the beach to photograph each sculpture and score the entries for consideration for ribbons and prizes. Swim Across America Open Water Swim Draws Hundreds to Long Island Sound

Swim Across America’s funding of clinical trials for patients helped contribute to four FDA approved life-saving immunotherapy cancer treatments with Yervoy, Opdivo, Tecentriq and Keytruda. Town of Greenwich, Village of Port Chester to Mark 50th Anniversary of Deadly Gulliver’s Disco Fire

Independence Day at Town Hall: Flag Raising, Sound Beach Community Band, Good Citizenship Awards

The Greenwich Independence Day Association will again be organizing the annual American Flag Raising at Greenwich Town Hall Plaza on the morning of Thursday July 4th. Beginning at 9:00am, the Sound Beach Community Band will perform live music along with the Assembly trumpet call, followed by ceremonial rifle fire by the Greenwich Police Department Honor Guard.
