Jonas Korff, a GHS member of the class of 2026, has been having a lot of fun as a food critic, munching his way through menus in Greenwich, Stamford, New York City and even in Greece where he traveled last week as part of the GHS Shapers for AP European History.

Having started in January 2025, Jonas has grown to about 2500 Instagram followers since his first restaurant review at the Elm Street Diner in Stamford, with about half of those followers achieved in the past six weeks alone.
“Since then, I’ve come far with the videos,” he said, adding that along the way he started working for Dom Delfino, populating the Joey B’s Instagram account with favorite dishes at the popular Cos Cob eatery.
Jonas was first inspired by a friend who was posting images of food and photo captions to social media.
“I thought, that’s really sick. I want to do that too,” he recalled. “I had so much fun, so I took off with it.”
At Elm Street Diner with a group of six friends, he reviewed the diner’s “hot honey” chicken dishes.
With hindsight, Jonas said he was a bit subdued during that visit, but pleased with his words and his friends’ feedback was good.
“I had fun but I didn’t know it would do well. Everyone at GHS thought it was cool, and inspired me to keep going. I like being on camera and like talking and sharing my experience.”
Jonas, who also owns a boat detailing business and is on the town’s approved vendor list, is busiest in spring and summer. This will be ideal timing since he heads to Texas in the fall to attend Southern Methodist University.
The young entrepreneur said while he plans to continue his food critic adventure in college.

Owner Dom Delfino recalled when Jonas was a little boy, he and his father became regulars.
“My dad ordered sausage links and eggs,” Jonas recalled. “I always got the CFO – crispy fried onions on a burger.”
“These are my favorite burgers in town. Dom knows how to do them,” Jonas said as he ordered a double size deluxe cheeseburger burger with all the fixings and a side of sweet potato fries.
“Nothing crazy – and they do the basics really well. That’s how you get a good meal. I like simple food.”
Cardinal Café
Some of the most popular posts on his Instagram feature reviews of dishes at Greenwich High School’s Cardinal Café, an ongoing series.
“I was already buying lunch anyway,” he said. “The first Cardinal Café review was in school for their Pasta Bolognese.”
“I love their burgers and chicken patties – and they make really good Birria Tacos. They are super good – I was astonished,” he recalled, adding, “The staff in the cafeteria are some of the nicest people you can ever meet. Sometimes I’ll interview a member of cafeteria staff and they always try to help me. If they don’t want to be on camera they’ll find a co worker who is.”
During a spring break visit last week to Joey B’s, a group of middle schoolers recognized Jonas.
“I love your videos,” said Henry Ingraham, 13. “I saw the Rinaldi’s one. I like how they’re very local and I’ve been to most of the place he reviews and eat the same stuff he’s reviewing.”

As he works his way through menus in Greenwich, Stamford, NYC and even Greece, he reflects on how he handles reviews of dishes he might not love.
“Positive videos do better,” he said.
However, he remains committed to telling the truth.
“If it’s a new place, honesty is the most important to me,” he said. “Who am I to be disingenuous? If I go to a new place and I don’t like it, I say it without being mean.”
Over time, Jonas said his techniques and narratives have improved.
“I plan out the intros in advance. And how to make it engaging,” he said. “I am respectful to staff and as nice as I can be. I treat them how I’d like to be treated – with respect.”
So far Jonas estimates he’s completed about 200 reviews and has even re-filmed some of his earlier reviews.
“Consistency is the most important factor,” he said. “I put effort into everything. I do one review a day.”
The young entrepreneur picked up another side hustle along the way. He is working at Joey B’s where he creates Instagram content for Delfino.
“Our chili is really popular,” said Delfino, whose ownership of Joey B’s is coming up on its 20th anniversary. “It won best in CT from IHeart radio.”
With Delfino at Joey B’s from the start in 2008 are chef Paul, Justin Currytto and Dom’s wife Lucretia.
Occasionally the banter among customers pauses and Currytto will burst into song.
“Working for Dom has made me a much better food critic,” Jonas said. “I think ahead about all the reviews. Everything has to be planned out in advance. I’m making it as professional as possible.”
And, as Jonas likes to say before he tucked into his deluxe cheeseburger, he added “Down the hatch.”
