Greenwich Schools shared an update on progress at Central Middle School.
The new school is a two-phase, 21-acre campus project. The new school building was constructed in phase one, with the building now open to students and staff.
The district plans to substantially complete demolition of the old CMS building this month and begin subgrade preparation for new athletic fields.
A a road closure between Indian Rock Lane and Stanwich Road continues through October 30, 30 during the hours of 8:30am to 2:15pm.

● Completed occupancy and move‐in of the new building
● Maintained plantings throughout Phase 1 during the planting season
● Continued fitting out and constructing the new fire pump house in Phase 1

● Progressed Phase 2 fit‐out of the new parent drop‐off loop
October Look-Ahead
● Continue construction of the new fire pump house for Phase 1
● Complete tree plantings throughout Phase 1
● Finalize and turn over new parent drop‐off area for Phase 2
● Achieve substantial completion of existing building demolition and removal for Phase 2
● Begin subgrade preparation for the new athletic fields in Phase 2
In late August a ribbon cutting event celebrated the completion of the new CMS building. The project is the largest capital project in the town’s history, replacing a facility that served students for nearly 70 years.
