The Children’s School is honored to have renowned psychologist Robert Brooks, Ph.D., on campus to speak with parents about “Raising a Self-Disciplined, Caring, and Resilient Child” on Wednesday, November 6, at 7:00pm.
The public is invited to join this free and illuminating talk about parenting, the first in a series of lectures the School has organized on topics relevant to families with young children.
What’s a caring approach to help children develop into healthy, loving, mature adults?
Drawing on his more than four decades of experience helping families, Dr. Brooks will describe a positive approach to discipline that focuses on a child’s strengths as well as on building a respectful and problem-solving environment at home. He will share research tested strategies for nurturing your children’s self-control, self-reliance, and self-confidence—all essential for lifetime success.
This workshop will pack a wealth of wisdom and experience!
Dr. Brooks is a distinguished clinical psychologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and the author or coauthor of 22 books, many of which focus on resilience across the lifespan. As a speaker, he is known for his respect for the dignity of children and for the warmth and humor he uses to bring his insights to life.
