Greenwich School Board Reverses Itself on Pre-K at Riverside School Renovation Ed Specs

BOE member Veronica Chiavaroli said other Greenwich elementary schools already house district programs besides their K-5 responsibilities. Riverside does not. Pre-K for children age 3, 4 and 5 is required by federal law to be provided for free for special education students who are in class with peer students who pay tuition. The number of students identified for Pre-K has tripled since 2012.

Pursuant to the Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and Dept of Consumer Protection Commissioner Bryan Cafferelli on Wednesday announced an investigation into former New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart’s handling of charitable assets for the benefit of the Mayor’s Trophy Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund managed by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain.
