The Greenwich registrars of voters released the results of Tuesday’s Democratic and Republican primaries around 10:00pm as follows:

Greenwich Democratic Primary for Governor:
Ned Lamont: 1767
Josh Elliott: 280
Greenwich Republican Primary for Congressman (Congressional Dist 4)
Dr. Michael Goldstein: 730
Daniel Miressi: 138
Statewide, incumbent Democratic Governor Lamont also easily defeated the gubernatorial primary challenger Josh Elliott, a State Rep from Hamden who is serving his fifth term. Elliott will remain on the fall ballot as a reelection candidate for the 88th House District.

Terms are four years, and Lamont, 72, is seeking his third term.
He took office for his first term on January 9, 2019, and started his second term on January 4, 2023.
Previously the only Governor of CT to win a consecutive third term in 200 years was Republican Governor John Rowland. He was elected to a third term in 2002, but he resigned in 2004 amid a corruption scandal.
Eyes will be on Greenwich in November when Lamont will face fellow Greenwich resident, Ryan Fazio, 36, a Republican state senator for the 36th district, in the November general election.

In Connecticut’s 4th US Congressional District, local resident Dr. Michael Goldstein won the Republican nomination, setting up another key contest for the November 3 general election.
Goldstein, a physician and attorney, will challenge 17-year Democratic incumbent Jim Himes for a third time.
In another closely followed race, 14-term incumbent US Representative John Larson, who sought a 15th term in Congress representing CT’s 1st district, was defeated by Luke Bronin.
The 1st district includes Bristol, Hartford, and Torrington. The district has been represented by Mr. Larson since 1999.
Mr. Bronin largely grew up in Greenwich. He was formerly the Mayor of Hartford for two terms, from 2016 to 2024.
