The Granola Bar to Open on Greenwich Ave on Friday May 27

The Granola Bar, a popular, Westport-based restaurant, will open a second location in Greenwich on Friday, May 27.

The eatery offers “food for real” – modern, healthy twists on traditional dishes. Owners Julie Mountain (Weston resident) and Dana Noorily (Westport resident), who opened their first location in Westport in 2013, are excited to bring their innovative and locally sourced breakfast and lunch options to Greenwich residents and businesses at 41 Greenwich Avenue.

“We are thrilled to expand to Greenwich and share our delicious and healthy dishes. Everyone can find a menu favorite here. We cater to every whim and every taste – from paleo salads to bacon-egg-and-cheese,” said Noorily. “We have designed a modern, warm space we hope Greenwich residents and neighboring communities will find fun and inviting.”

“Bottom line: We love food!” said Mountain. “We offer a breadth of real food for people just like us. Some days we want a green juice and other days we want a bagel with cream cheese and cured salmon (aka. “The Bubby”).  But at The Granola Bar, we offer salmon we cure in-house, and if you don’t want cream cheese, we also have a non-dairy cashew “cream” option. This is food for real life.”

The Granola Bar Greenwich customers will be introduced to several original and innovative dishes that the co-owners, Mountain and Noorily, and Director of Operations, Neil Rohricht have designed.  Some menu favorites are avocado toast, house-cured salmon and freshly made salads and drinks such as Toby’s Estate coffee, Greenwich-based Rise’s nitro-infused, organic cold brew coffee and signature smoothies.

Among the sandwiches on the menu are the Bababooey, the Almond Chicken Salad Club and the Portabella Hadid sandwiches. The Bababooey, named for famous Howard Stern executive producer and Greenwich resident Gary Dell’Abate, is roasted turkey breast, swiss cheese, bacon, mixed greens, tomato and TGB signature sauce on grilled sourdough.

The Almond Chicken Club features house-roasted chicken salad with almonds, mixed greens, avocado, bacon, and sliced tomato on multigrain.  The Portabella Hadid is a vegan option with marinated portobella mushroom, roasted red pepper, avocado, tomato and cilantro yogurt sauce on toasted multigrain.

Salads include the Modern Farmly and the Soho Salad. The Modern Farmly is baby kale, local Fleisher’s sausage, goat cheese, sweet potatoes, spiced pumpkin seeds with maple mustard dressing. The Soho Salad is two salmon cakes over mixed greens with watermelon salsa, pickled onions and spiced pumpkin seeds with green goddess dressing. For adventurous and picky kids alike, The Granola Bar will continue to serve healthy alternatives to the favorite standbys, like grilled cheese, turkey sandwich on multigrain, cheese quesadilla and house-made baked sweet potato chips.

Built James Bargas, Inc., and general contractor Chris Bargas, the new 2,700-square-foot restaurant will offer extensive seating, an eat-in bar and a large take-out section for people on the go. The Granola Bar will be open seven days a week, Mondays through Saturdays from 7:00am to 5:00pm and Sundays from 8:00amto 4:00pm.

Corporate and private party catering will also be available in Greenwich, as well as daily coffee and baked goods delivery service to local businesses.

Founded in Westport in 2013 by co-owners Julie Mountain and Dana Noorily, The Granola Bar is a bubbling hub of fresh, seasonal food, coffee and community.  The Granola Bar’s mission is to offer “food for real.” Using the best and healthiest ingredients, local and organic, they are committed to elevating traditional comfort food.
