Learn to “Say It Well” This Summer at Debate Camp

Debate Camp

Debate Camp in Greenwich, where campers learn to “Say It Well,” runs June 10-14 and June 17-21, 2019 on the campus of Greenwich Academy.

The day camp provides a valued enrichment opportunity focusing on debate skills and public speaking. The camp features a Model United Nations and is open to students in grades 5-10 (minimum age 10).

The teaching ratio is one staff to eight students and there are three debate rounds daily. Students receive feedback and have fun.

Debate Day Camp is exceedingly popular and most locations fill to capacity.  In keeping with the 1:8 staffing ratio, most camps are only able to fit in a limited number of campers.

All day camp locations open for camper sign-in at 8:30am, and the program concludes each day at 4:30pm.  Campers are welcome to arrive between 8:00am and 8:30 and stay past 4:30, until 5:00pm at no extra charge.  Recreational program and supervision are available at those times.  Camp’s academic program is conducted between 8:45am and 4:30pm each day.  All materials required for camp are provided.

Camp staff keep in touch with all of camp families both in advance and during the camp session.  Parents / guardians receive a confirmation email immediately following registration, and a second email detailing pick-up / drop-off instructions, and details about camp’s AWARDS afternoon; sent 1 week prior to camp’s opening day.

During the week, Debate Camp pictures and daily updates are posted on the camp facebook page.

At the end of the week, a card that shares some of each camper’s individual progress is available to parents / guardians and campers.
