PJ Day Returns on Friday throughout Greenwich Schools: Fundraiser for Children’s Cancer

This Friday is “PJ Day” in Greenwich Schools! The timing is nice because it’s the last school day before February vacation, Feb 12-16. On February 9 one of the amazing Greenwich High School Seniors, Sophie Lenschow, will redouble her efforts from last year, to lead a district-wide “PJ Day.”

The day has been set up to raise funds and create awareness for children battling cancer at Connecticut Children’s Hospital. Last year, the fundraiser raised more than $19,000.

The inspiration for PJ Day came from Sophie, who finished treatments for Leukemia in 8th grade at Eastern Middle School and wanted to raise funds for kids battling cancer at Connecticut Children’s Hospital.

She explained that wearing pajamas was akin to showing solidarity with children who have cancer and are stuck in their PJs for weeks and months.

For more information, contact your school’s principal or head to Sophie’s fundraising web page if you would like to assist. Support by joining a team or making a donation. The process is fast, easy, and secure.

And you can be sure that it will benefit local children and families. At last year’s PJ Day US Congressman Jim Himes stopped by the high school to meet Sophie in person and lend support for her efforts.
