Update, 11:00am: The roadway has been reopened according to Greenwich Police.
Original Post, 10:00am. Greenwich Police issued a traffic alert Monday morning, noting the police department was conducting a crash investigation on Railroad Avenue. The street has been closed between Arch Street and Field Point Road while the investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 8:50 am police were notified of a Motor vehicle – Pedestrian Collision on Railroad Ave.
The Pedestrian suffered a serious injury and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area. The roadway is expected to reopen around 10:30 am.
Captain John Slusarz of Greenwich Police said described the situation as a developing incident and said more information would be provided as it becomes available for release.
