Mothers for Others

Mothers for Others is planning several initiatives this fall.

The organization provides necessities, including diapers and baby equipment, that are not covered by government aid programs to families who are referred by local social services agencies.

“This summer, we have been busy planning our fall calendar to continue growing our programs, educating the community about local needs, and extending our community partnerships,” said Lisa Leavy Fisher, president.

Promoting National Diaper Awareness Week through Diaper Drives 9/25-10/1/17
Diaper drives will be held around town, including a diaper drive led by the GHS Cardinals’ Football Team, Starbucks in Cos Cob, and First Presbyterian Church.

Having Fun While Raising Money to Accelerate Our Impact – Fall Fundraiser Sept 28, 2017.
To complement our grassroots efforts, which have helped over 1,100 families since 2011, we invite the community to attend our fall fundraising event and artist reception showcasing the photography of Bob Tabor on Thursday, September 28 at Grayson de Vere, 33 New Broad Street, Port Chester from 7:00pm– 9:00pm.

In November, Splurge, 39 Lewis Street, Greenwich will also hold a month long diaper drive. With nearly one in three American families struggling to afford enough diapers, these drives help bridge the gap for local families. Mothers for Others is seeking additional sponsors to host drives. Please visit www.mothersforothers.org to schedule a drive.

Teaming Up with The Undies Project – A Perfect Fit
Mothers for Others is joining forces with The Undies Project, a non-profit organization based in Greenwich, which provides new underwear to those in need. This complementary partnership helps raise awareness for the needs of children who, once they “graduate” from wearing diapers, will need a supply of new underwear which many families often cannot easily afford.

Mothers for Others is a community-based, volunteer-led organization, supports the well-being of underserved families by providing diapers and baby equipment to children from birth to age three years old in Greenwich and neighboring communities.

These basic, yet vital necessities, for children and their families include strollers, high chairs, and bouncy seats and are not covered by aid programs. Mothers for Others works in partnership with Family Centers, Town of Greenwich, YWCA, Kids in Crisis, and Neighbor to Neighbor.
