The Book Swap at Holly Hill is now accepting donations of gently used children’s books that will be part of Bridgeport’s 2019 Toys for Tots event being held on December 13 and 14.

The Greenwich Book Swap has provided over 1,000 kids books in each of the past few years, but this year the volunteers hope to deliver enough for the parents to choose books for all of the 2,600+ children supported by the program.

The Book Swap is a volunteer effort and is open Friday and Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 12:00 noon at the Holly Hill Recycling Center.

So far this year over 23,000 books from the Greenwich Book Swap have been hand delivered to needy organizations.

While you are there, please feel free to drop off your cookbooks, coffee table books, fiction and non-fiction adult books as well.

The donated books are organized by category in the Book Shed and up to 10 books a day are free to Greenwich residents.

All of the excess books in good condition are distributed to needy schools, shelters and senior organizations.
