Greenwich residents, it’s time to renew your Holly Hill transfer station permits.
Starting July 1, 2026, residents are required to use the new Holly Hill Resource Recovery Facility entrance permit.
You can order/purchase for the new permit year (July 2026 – June 2027) today! Please read carefully to select the correct permit.
For all pre-orders purchased before July 1, 2026:
- Residents will have until August 1, 2026, to claim that their permit has not been delivered. After August 1, 2026, you will be required to purchase a new one (for pre-orders ONLY).
For all orders placed on/after July 1, 2026:
- Residents will have one month from date of purchase to claim that their permit has not been delivered. After one month, you will be required to purchase a new one.
Important Notice
Permits are available for purchase online and in-person.
- Online applications are typically processed more quickly.
- In-person applications are accepted at the DPW Administration counter in Town Hall, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Payments must be made by credit card or check only; cash is not accepted.
- Hanging permits must be displayed at all times while in the facility.

- If you misplace your tag you may purchase a new one for the full price of $25. Prior to applying for a replacement please notify the Department by emailing [email protected].
- Applications and checks will be accepted at the Highway Department drop box. No permit will be given in exchange at the time of drop-off.
Who needs a permit?
Any and all vehicles, both commercial and residential, must display a disposal permit to enter the Holly Hill Facility.
Who can dispose of waste at Holly Hill?
All Greenwich residents and local businesses with a valid Holly Hill disposal permit which is properly displayed. No waste generated from outside of Greenwich is allowed.
Cargo type vehicles
If you have a non passenger vehicle (Trucks, pick-up trucks, vans, and vehicles with trailers, etc. will be weighed at all times) please fill out the tare weight vehicle registration form (PDF). Bring the vehicle you are registering and all proof documents, then drive ON the scale.
What if you are using a company not based in Town to dispose of the material for you?
You will need to provide the company with a Verification of Owner Form (PDF) completed and signed by you that verifies the material they are bringing into the Transfer Station is from a Greenwich property. You will need to supply a signed form for each load.
