The Garden Education Center of Greenwich, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting horticulture, conservation and the arts held its 2nd annual farm-to-table dinner at its Cos Cob location in the Montgomery Pinetum in late October.
Cai Pandolfino of Green & Tonic coordinated the evening bringing together Chef Geoff Lazlo, formerly of Blue Hill at Stone Barns and The Whelk, and Bill King of the Back 40 Group and Organic Planet.
Guests enjoyed a sensational seasonal menu supported by local vendors Mike’s Organic Delivery, Greenwich Cheese Company, Hemlock Oyster Farms and Study Fine Wines. Area purveyors included Back 40 Farm, Hempworth Farm, Sepe Farm, Pine Hill and Meile Farm.
Local residents Urling Searle and Chris Nichols co-chaired the sold out evening featuring cocktails in the greenhouse and an exciting meal at the farm table highlighting seasonal ingredients from area farms.
The evening was a reminder that the Garden Education Center is a gem in Greenwich’s midst.
