SoundWaters celebrated the 10th anniversary of its annual Flotilla. Kayakers and paddleboarders took to the waters of Long Island Sound in support of environmental education.
The milestone event raised more than $40,000 to help fund SoundWaters’ hands-on education programs.

“The Flotilla has brought our community together around a shared love for Long Island Sound for the past 10 years,” said President of SoundWaters, Leigh Shemitz. “It’s inspiring to see so many people come to celebrate this incredible resource while helping ensure that students throughout our region have opportunities to learn about, explore and protect it.”
The Flotilla has become one of SoundWaters’ signature fundraising events, bringing outdoor enthusiasts, families, community partners and local businesses to support Long Island Sound education. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $300,000 in support of SoundWaters mission.
