PHOTOS: Creativity on Display in Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival 2024

Saturday was the annual Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival at Greenwich Point. For some families it was their first time competing. Other families executed carefully formulated engineering plans that required sturdy shovels and sculpting tools. And some creations came with inventive narratives as only small children might imagine. Andrew Karen, recreation supervisor from the Greenwich Parks & Rec Dept, led a team across the beach to photograph each sculpture and score the entries for consideration for ribbons and prizes. Bring Your Creativity to the Annual Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival at Tod’s Point

Participants need only bring shovels, pails, and any tools to create a sand sculpture. Participants will also need to check-in on the beach under the pavilion to get a flag to mark their sculpture. Parks & Rec, Greenwich Arts Council Sandblast Sand Sculpture Festival Set for Saturday, July 21

Sandblast is intended purely for a fun day at the beach, focusing on the creative aspect of
sand sculpting. Participants need only bring shovels, pails, and any tools to create a sand
sculpture. Participants will also need to check-in at the middle pavilion on the beach and
