Greenwich Academy Girls Rock Robotics Competition

On Saturday Greenwich Academy hosted “Gator Bowl” and 24 teams descended on the gymnasium for a fiercely competitive robotics challenge. The FTC “Cascade Effect” game involved something of a real life video game, with joysticks controlling real robots the high school teams had constructed. The robots had to be constructed from a specified list of materials and fit inside an 18″ cube before the game. However, once the game begins the robots are allowed to expand. The event is great fun for spectators and teams alike, with many enjoying the tradition of team costumes, wigs, pirate hats and super hero capes. Continue Reading →
