Avon Theatre Offering Must-See Summer Lineup

This truly is a golden summer for local independent film fans.  Not only is it a great time for indie releases, but local independent film center The Avon Theatre in Stamford is also celebrating its 75th anniversary this August.  This anniversary marks the better part of a century dedicated to bringing all kinds of films to our area and celebrating the beauty of film. The Avon was founded in 1939, a year often referred to as the greatest year in the history of Hollywood.  The height of the Golden Age, this year saw the release of such classic films as The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Of Mice and Men, Wuthering Heights, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
