Reunion of 1976 Catholic Middle School “Chargers” Basketball Champs: Everybody Had a Role

On Friday a group of former 7th and 8th grader basketball players from what was the Catholic Middle School League reminisced about their win in the New England State Championship in 1976. The reunion was moving, with some former players traveling as far as from Minnesota, Maryland and Florida. The group honored coaches Peter Borchetta and David D’Andrea, sharing a slice of Greenwich’s history.

New Owner, New Name: Stone Bridge Wine & Spirits Caters to Customers

Peter Shah recently took over the liquor store at the intersection of Sheephill Road and Palmer Hill Road, renaming it Stone Bridge Wine & Spirits in honor of the adjacent historic bridge over the Mianus River. The store, previously LaBella's Fine Wine & Spirits for 16 years, is located at the juncture of several different neighborhoods, but technically is in Riverside.
