Funky Monkey Toys & Books to Donate Percentage of Proceeds to Neighbor to Neighbor April 5-11

Funky Monkey Toys & Books on Greenwich Avenue is donating 10% of sales of all toys, curated Easter Baskets and Passover gifts to Neighbor to Neighbor from April 5-11.

“Our sense of community is so important right now. Neighbor to Neighbor is highly appreciative of our continued partnership with our friends at Funky Monkey,” said Margaret Tjimos-Goldberg.

Funky Monkey offers curbside pickup in front of their store at 86 Greenwich Avenue with purchases placed right in the trunk of your car, or they will deliver locally for orders over $99.00. Shipping is also available.

To order, go to the Funky Monkey toy store website, www.funkymonkey.toys or call (203) 769-5884 between 11:00am – 4:00pm.

The curated baskets start at $50, and can be individualized by any age, boy/girl, and gift preferences.

“We know this is a difficult time for families, and we are happy to help by giving back,” Jared Greenman said, owner of Funky Monkey. “Easter baskets, Passover and birthday gifts or a gift just because will brighten a child’s day while supporting the families who rely on services from Neighbor to Neighbor.”

While new to Greenwich, the Greenman family is far from a new name in the toy business. Jared is a 4th generation toy store owner after his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father. His great uncle Nat Greenman is listed as #3 in the Toy Hall of Fame. And Jared’s father, Stan Greenman, was the creator and founder of the popular Noodle Kidoodle stores.

Because of COVID-19, many in the community are at extreme risk because of loss of income and increased food insecurity.

Neighbor to Neighbor is committed to providing food to families in need, anticipating an ongoing increase of neighbors needing assistance with food.

Neighbor to Neighbor has temporarily moved its operations to the Arch Street Teen Center in Greenwich.

Contact the Greenwich Dept of Human Services if you need assistance. Currently there is no curbside pick-up available. The organization has moved to a delivery service.
