PHOTOS: Ideal Conditions for Greenwich Road Runners Father’s Day Races at Tod’s Point

The Greenwich Road Runners 2023 Race Series kicked off with a Father’s Day 5K and One-Mile Fun Run at Greenwich Point Friday evening. The park again proved to be the ideal setting for the run, with the route hugging Long Island Sound and clear skies after afternoon rain showers.

The main race sponsor for the Father’s Day race was First County Bank. Other sponsors included Fusion Academy, Old Greenwich Social Club, Something Natural, Greenwich Independent Insurance an A-Smile Family Dentistry of Stamford.

The Greenwich Road Runners event was organized as a collaboration with the Dept of Parks & Rec’s Recreation Division and Parks & Rec Director Joe Siciliano was on hand to start the races with words of encouragement and a horn blast.

Event proceeds benefit the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund which provides Greenwich youth access to recreational programs including summer day camp.

More information about Greenwich Road Runners is available online at www.greenwichroadrunners.org The group organizes group runs, track workouts, destination runs, social events, and races. All levels are welcome, from beginners to Olympians.
