The inaugural HSS Greenwich Half Marathon takes place this Sunday, October 18, welcoming nearly 1,000 runners to a scenic, flat and fast 13.1-mile course through Greenwich Point Park and the surrounding coastal roads of Old Greenwich.
Sunday is shaping up weather-wise to be a stunningly beautiful fall morning.
The race will start promptly at 7:30am First Selectman Fred Camillo will start the race, following a very special rendition of the National Anthem.

The race was originally scheduled for September 27 but was postponed because of the nor’easter. Public safety is the organizers’ highest priority. Given the high likelihood of coastal flooding at Park, as well as the possibility of downed trees and power lines, the Town of Greenwich and Greenwich Road Runners made the tough decision to postpone the race.
The nor’easter caused schedule conflicts for many of our volunteers. Volunteers are still needed for Sunday’s race. Please sign up to volunteer here.
The nor’easter also caused 275 runners to defer their registration to next year’s race, so registration will remain open until 7:15am on Sunday morning, offering another opportunity for first-time half marathoners and experienced runners alike to take part in the inaugural event.
Please register to run here.
Family members and other spectators are welcome to watch the race anywhere on the course including Greenwich Point Park. Admittance to the Park will be allowed from 5:30am until 11:00am, without a day pass or parking pass. Reminder that dogs are not allowed at the Park in-season. Please see the Course Map for road closure info during the race.

Hosted by Greenwich Road Runners, the event builds on the organization’s mission of fostering healthier lives and stronger communities through the power of running. The certified, two-loop course features beautiful coastal views and ideal racing conditions, with awards presented across multiple age divisions.
The event provided Kids in Crisis with a platform to fundraise and share its mission of providing crisis intervention, emergency shelter and counseling services for children and families. Participants and spectators are encouraged to make donations to the organization.
Starting at 5:30am, Caffe Bon will be selling coffee, lattes, muffins and pastries to runners and spectators at Greenwich Point Park.
Following the race, runners can enjoy a post-race celebration featuring Bronx House pizza of Stamford, local vendors like Cobs Bread, popcorn, fruit and more.
Major sponsors of the event include HSS, Slager Madry LLC, Threads & Treads, Fresh&Co, The Current Wellness, Star 99.9 and LesserEvil.
