At the OGA annual meeting Candace Garthwaite was honored. Recently she worked to have Old Greenwich proclaimed as a Village District to help preserve the character of its downtown business district. An Intro to Insulated Glass First, a little background: modern windows are made as an assembly like a sandwich with with double (or sometimes triple) layers of glass with spacing between them, usually filled with Argon gas, which has 50% less heat conduction than air. This assembly is called insulated glass (IG) and generally a window or door sash will be made with one unit of insulated glass. A law that went into effect in New York on Dec 15, 2024, “New York State Puppy Mill Pipeline Law,” is designed to stop the flow of cruelly bred puppies to pet stores in that state.
