Greenwich Guy’s Viral Squirrel Videos Lead to Marriage, Sprawling Animal Sanctuary

While Peanut the squirrel and his “hooman” dad Mark Longo remain famous online, on terra firma much has changed. Mark recalls posting a video of his breakfast with Peanut, and how it led to an introduction to Dani, who would become his wife. Inspired by Peanut, Mark and Dani run a non-profit animal sanctuary in upstate New York on 350 acres. Today there are over 300 animals, including 57 horses rescued from slaughter. Continue Reading →

Greenwich Paddlers: Join the Annual Flotilla on July 20 and Help Protect Long Island Sound

Paddlers can join the Flotilla, which launches from Cove Island Park in Stamford and Weed Beach in Darien.  Designed to be achievable for all ages and experience levels, the four-mile route will end at Boccuzzi Park in Stamford, where participants can enjoy a celebratory lunch and music on the beach.  Continue Reading →
