Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The Garden Club of Old Greenwich

In the 1940’s, the Garden Club’s projects supported the World War II effort.  Members planted and canned vegetables from victory gardens.  The club formed three committees: the Red Cross committee, which provided childcare while parents worked at the Red Cross; the War Service Committee, which sold war bonds; and the Hospitality committee, which provided gifts, books, cards and food to servicemen.  Continue Reading →

Multiple Arrests by Greenwich Police after 3:30am Back Country BMW Theft

Around 3:30am, Greenwich Police spotted a stolen BMW traveling in back country in between a stolen Honda Civic and a stolen Jeep Cherokee. Police used tire deflation devices to stop the BMW and Honda. Occupants fled on foot. The Cherokee was abandoned on Clapboard Ridge Rd and occupant(s) fled on foot. Later, after the GPD Drone Unit arrived on the scene, the four suspects were located hiding in the woods on South Stanwich Road. Continue Reading →
