All Manner of Creativity on Display at Howl & Prowl on Greenwich Ave

Though Sunday morning was rainy and dubious, the gray skies made way for bright sunshine just in time for the Howl & Prowl event on Greenwich Avenue.

Homemade creations were a big hit and imagination was rewarded in annual fundraiser for Adopt-A-Dog. The event featured a parade and costume contest in the parking lot beside the Havemeyer Building.

The top prize went to DJ Senft and Brendan Broadbin of Stamford, who dressed up as DEA enforcement agents, while their dog Petey was outfitted in perfect likeness to Pawblo Escobar.

“We watch a lot of Netflix,” said DJ, of the inspiration for Petey’s costume. “We’re obsessed with the program Narcos.”

Other winners were the flower seed packs and flower dogs, a pack of disgruntled Yankees fans, a “corndog” and even a flowerpot dog.

This is gentle girl, Artemis, aka Artie, who is being fostered locally for Adopt a Dog. Her foster mother brought Artemis to the Howl & Prowl event and said she is sweet, calm and likes to snuggle. What Artemis lacks in form with her misaligned hips, she makes up for with patience and determination. Artemis is available for adoption through Adopt a Dog. Credit: Leslie Yager
