Good Day Sunshine! 70° Temperature Brings Winter-Weary to the Beach

Record temperatures on Wednesday brought many residents to Tod’s Point for a breath of fresh air and a walk on the beach. Children delighted in the low tide, and were frolicking in the sand and water. Friends greeted each other and took some time off to appreciate this unusually warm day.

The sun’s warm rays beamed down as many newborns nestled with their parents, and dozens of dogs dotted the stretch of beach.

Temperatures reached 70°, which beat the record of 68° – the average high for this day – 44°.

As day turned to night, a spectacular sunset could be viewed with brilliant colors of ruby, gold and patches of purple. An early, welcome taste of the summer season to come.
