Sunday was a beautiful sunny, mild day for the third annual Walk/Run for Hope at Greenwich Point.
Organizers said the event benefited from over 100 walk-on participants, in addition to about 175 who pre-registered, including members of about 20 teams.
Julia Volpin, the Director of Special Events for CancerCare, said participation has increased every year since the event was established three years ago.
“The services at CancerCare are all free of charge, for the person dealing with the diagnosis, and to the family. And we’re there from the beginning to the end of the journey, regardless of the outcome,” said Volpin.
The community-based event brought together friends and families to walk or run in memory of those they have lost to cancer, honor survivors and support those who are currently facing a cancer diagnosis.
