Joan Lunden To Speak at Greenwich Chamber Event about Juggling Strollers and Wheelchairs

Greenwich Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that its Women Who Matter featured speaker this year is Joan Lunden.

Joan will present at a Luncheon being held at Greenwich Country Club on Friday, April 3 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.

An award-winning journalist, prolific best-selling author, motivational speaker and women’s health and wellness advocate, Lunden has been a trusted voice in American home for over 30 years.

“As it happened, in my 50s I was changing my twins’ diapers at the same time as I was managing the care of my aging mother.

My life was controlled bedlam at times (it still is sometimes!) and it’s not really where I expected to be, yet that was my life and I was loving every minute of it.

It baffled me to think that I was picking out strollers—make that double strollers, for Max, Kate, Kim and Jack—while I was also buying cars for my teenage girls James, Lindsay and Sarah, and a wheelchair for my mom, Grady.” – Joan Lunden

The above is a fascinating excerpt from Joan Lunden’s new book, “Why Did I Come Into This Room?  A Candid Conversation About Aging.”

The April 3 event is designed to celebrate women who make a difference and have a real impact on the Greenwich community and beyond.

The Chamber’s Women Who Matter Luncheon celebrates women who make a difference and who have a real impact on our community and beyond. Be prepared to hear how Lunden is undertaking the challenge of aging with humor and resilience. Everyone who attends will receive a copy of her newly released book.
