On Sunday Greenwich High School students Eva Barber, Tyler Bell, Santa (Edward Puskar), and a group of nearly 20 of their GHS friends held a successful Photos with Santa fundraiser in the American Legion building in Glenville.
Their effort is called Gains for Guyana, and when we last checked on Dec 5th, the group’s GoFundMe had reached $1500 toward a $10,000 goal. As of Dec 16, the GoFundMe was up to almost $2,000.
The ongoing fundraising effort was inspired by a conversation Eva had with an Uber driver who shared stories of his homeland.
More good news. Eva said Sunday’s event raised $986.00!
“It was pretty good for our first event,” she said, adding the group was brainstorming future fundraisers.
“I’m super grateful that we had our friend Nate Hinton to help us get the venue,” she said. “He helped make it happen.”
