Family Centers celebrated the expansion of The Mark Family Dental Health Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, recognizing the generosity of principal donors Arlene and Reuben Mark and the federal and community partners whose support made the project possible.
US Congressman Representative Jim Himes joined Family Centers leadership, staff, supporters, and community members for the event.

The renovation expands the Dental Health Center’s capacity from one dental chair to three, significantly increasing Family Centers’ ability to serve patients and creating additional capacity to meet the growing demand for dental care services in lower Fairfield County.
Funding for the expansion was provided by naming donors Arlene and Reuben Mark, the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Greenwich Communities.
As one of only a few dental providers in Greenwich that accepts HUSKY Health, Connecticut’s Medicaid program, Family Centers plays a critical role in ensuring access to dental care for children and families. The expansion will help the Center meet growing demand for preventive and restorative dental services.
“Oral health is an essential part of overall health,” said Dennis Torres, Chief Health Officer at Family Centers. “By expanding from one dental chair to three, we have significantly increased our ability to meet the growing need for dental care in our community. This investment allows us to serve more patients and provide timely access to the preventive and restorative care that helps children and adults stay healthy.”
The Mark Family Dental Health Center is part of Family Centers, a nonprofit organization that has served the residents of lower Fairfield County for more than 130 years. Because people rarely have just one need, Family Centers provides education, health care, and supportive services together to help children, adults, and families thrive. Family Centers makes it easier to find services and support in one place because people rarely have just one need.
