Interns Amelie, Julia, and Sara visited this week, and were helped immediately upon arrival by the very friendly staff behind the counter. They were given pastry samples and some backstory about the bakery, with staff explaining that Raphaël‘s uses authentic French recipes, made fresh daily.

The bakery is family-owned and named after Raphaël Dequeker, a highly skilled, third-generation pâtissier originally from Brittany, France. The entire family have been familiar faces at Raphaël’s since they opened in Greenwich in 2020.

Ingredients are locally sourced or imported directly from France.

Amelie ordered a turkey and comté sandwich, Julia ordered a vegetarian sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie, and Sara enjoyed a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich.

The trio sat outside to eat and were very satisfied with their orders.

“The flavor and freshness of each made for a very pleasant meal,” Sara said.

As the interns enjoyed lunch, they noted the constant flow of customers going in and out of the bakery: families, friends, workers, joggers, and others reflecting the wide appeal of the menu at Raphaël’s.

And, nearby, Raphaël’s recently expanded to a second location, located at 370 Heights Road in Darien.

The interns recommended Raphael’s Bakery as a must-visit due to its outstanding customer service, variety and quality of its menu, and welcoming atmosphere.

Raphael’s Bakery is located at 146 Mason Street, Greenwich, CT 06830
