Beloved Greenwich institution, Raphaël’s Bakery is expanding with the opening of a location in Darien, introducing a new community to the family-run bakery’s signature blend of French tradition, local charm and artisanal craftsmanship.

Raphaël’s, located at 370 Heights Road, is now open.
On Sunday, November 16 at 2:00pm there will be a grand opening celebration with some special surprises.
Raphaël Dequeker, originally from Brittany, France, is a third-generation pâtissier/boulanger whose earliest memories are of cutting strawberries in his parents’ pastry shop.
At just 16, he began an apprenticeship under a Maître Chocolatier in Paris and went on to train alongside culinary legends such as Alain Ducasse and Pierre Hermé, working in some of France’s most celebrated kitchens, including Le Louis XV in Monaco and Ladurée in Paris.
In 2003, Raphaël moved to Greenwich with his wife Charlotte and their three sons, for a job as Head Pastry Chef at Valbella.
After nearly two decades there, he took the leap to open his own bakery in Greenwich in 2020.
