Art to the Ave has returned to Greenwich Avenue in 2022 after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. Opening night was warm, with clear skies, and residents enjoying the strolling gallery and abundant receptions. Art to the Ave runs through May. All the art on display is for sale, and a 30% tax deduction for the purchaser benefits GAC. Opening night of the 22nd annual Art to The Ave festival is set for Thursday, May 2 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. The festival is collaboration of local stores in the Greenwich Avenue area and local artists, made possible by the Greenwich Arts Council. Each May, with the overwhelming support of the Greenwich business community, the Arts Council turns Greenwich Avenue into a strolling gallery.
The evening launches a truly spectacular show as musicians and street performers fill the street entertaining strollers.
Most stores host receptions for the hundreds of visitors who attend to preview the work of over 120 artists. The artworks selected by the retailers remains in place through Memorial Day, so there is ample time for viewers to experience the “gallery” that downtown Greenwich becomes.
All the art on display is for sale. New this year, all are invited to an after party to be held at the Greenwich Arts Council the night of May 2 from 7:30 to 9:00pm. Continue Reading →

Some time late Thursday morning the sun broke through the fog. From Old Greenwich to Byram, steam rose from the rain soaked asphalt. The air grew warmer. Air conditioners whirred to life.
