Art to the Avenue, the Greenwich Arts Council’s annual spring celebration, will turn downtown Greenwich into a strolling art gallery, bringing works of art to store windows throughout the month of May.
The festival opens each year on the f irst Thursday in May. This year the first Thursday is on May 4.
The event is 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
Whoever said that art and commerce don’t mix was clearly mistaken. For 26 years, Art to the Avenue has been doing just that.
Most stores host receptions for the hundreds of visitors who attend to preview the work of local artists. The art selected by the retailers remains in place through Memorial Day, so there is ample time for viewers to experience the “gallery” that downtown Greenwich becomes.
