Greenwich Cardinals gymnasium echoed with cheers, applause, and smiles. Greenwich student-athletes made their college dreams official. In the Greenwich signing ceremony that blended tradition with triumph, GHS proudly celebrated its Class of 2025 athletes who have committed to compete at the NCAA Division III level.
Being a student athlete is no easy task, it is about finding balance, excelling in academics as a student, and breaking records, which leads to accomplishing greatness in one’s sport as an athlete.
The constant sacrifices student-athletes have to make do not go unnoticed. Their grit, focused commitment, and relentless effort shine through every test taken, homework assignment submitted, and point scored on the field. Behind every achievement lies early mornings, late nights, missed social events, and an unwavering drive to excel both in the classroom and in competition.

These athletes strive to be the best in their chosen sport, whether it’s Swimming, Football, Track and Field, Tennis, etc. Day in and day out, showing up to practice every single day, going to team workouts, and pushing through challenges with relentless dedication, these athletes have earned their moment in the spotlight.
Having the self-discipline of being a student athlete is a challenging but worthwhile experience. Training, going to games, meets, and having that team camaraderie with your teammates builds lasting friendships and can lead to amazing future opportunities in athletics.
Honoring and celebrating these student-athletes is to not only celebrate the here, the now, and the future, but looking back on every point scored, every record broken, and every moment of dedication that brought them to this milestone.
All of these athletes have something in common, their shared passion for their sport, passion that led them to this very moment where they will thrive during their athletic journey. With the unwavering support of friends, family, and community.
“I’m really proud of everyone and they did an amazing job,” said Peter Georgiou, GHS Director of Athletics.
Mr. Georgiou said he was extremely proud of all the dedication, time and effort the student-athletes put
into the program and their athletic accomplishments that led them to their athletic collegiate careers.
