Riverside School is hosting its 39th annual Riverside Run on Saturday, May 11, 2024, commencing at 8:30am.
This community event takes runners on a scenic three-mile course through the Riverside neighborhood.
The Riverside Run includes the main run/walk, as well as a series of “Fun Runs” for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Fun Runs take place in the front of Riverside School. All participating children will receive ribbons, and trophies will be given to those who earn top places.
“The Riverside Run is a beloved tradition for both our school and community,” said Gordon Beinstein, Principal of Riverside School. “It’s a time when students, families, and community members come together to participate, support one another, and volunteer. We eagerly anticipate hosting this wonderful event every year.”
The first 500 participants will receive a race t-shirt and a take-away gift bag. Timing mats will be at the start and finish line to ensure accurate timing for the main run.
Race day is Saturday, May 11 (rain or shine). The races will begin at 8:30am for the three-mile run and 9:30am for the Kids Fun Run.
Online registration is now open to the public at www.rivpta.org.
The event also accepts “day of” registration, until 30 minutes before race time. The registration fee for the three-mile run is $30, and the registration fee for the Kids Fun Run is $15. Event proceeds will benefit PTA programs that enrich classroom curriculum and support teachers and staff.
