During a Welfare Check, GPD Find Two People with Significant Injuries

On April 6 Greenwich police responded to an apartment in the area of Greenwich Ave on a report of an unwanted person knocking on a door.

According to the police criminal information summary, around 2:30am officers gained access to the building, found an unlocked apartment door and made entry to conduct a welfare check on possible subjects within.

While conducting the welfare check, officers observed blood droplets and spatter on the living room floor and bedroom door.

Upon opening the bedroom door, two people found within were found to have significant injuries to their faces and upper body.

Police said that Jennifer Melo-Trejos, 36, of Greenwich, had scratched the victim in the face causing cuts and scrapes to the victim’s face and neck.

While identifying all subjects involved, it was found that the victim was a protected person from Ms Melo-Trejos and there were four active protective orders protecting the victim from her.

Ms Melo-Trejos was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Violation of Protective Order (4 counts) and Assault 3.

Her bond was set at $5,000, which she was unable to post. She was held at the police station awaiting a court date in Stamford on April 8, 2024.

Wayne Webster, 32, of Greenwich was also arrested. Police said they determined that Mr. Webster had punched the victim in the face causing bruising to all areas of the victim’s face. Further, it was determined that the victim was a protected person from Mr. Webster, and there were four active protective orders protecting the victim from him.

He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Violation of Protective Order (4 counts) and Assault 3. His bond was also set at $5,000 which he was unable to post and he shared a court date with Ms Melo-Trejos on April 8, 2024 in Stamford Superior Court.
