Police: Greenwich Man Charged for Threatening Party-Goers with Weapons

police stationGreenwich Police responded to a report of a fight in progress at 307 Hamilton Ave just after midnight on Sat., Sept. 20.

Waiyat Hamdani, 22, faces charges of third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening after getting into a fight with guests of a party in an upstairs apartment.

According to Greenwich Police, officers learned that residents of the 2nd floor apartment were hosting a party and that an argument had ensued with residents of the first floor apartment over the noise level. Hamdani, a resident of the first floor apartment, became enraged, broke a window and threatened party-goers with a knife, Taser and a golf club.

During the fight, Hamdani broke a window in the second-floor apartment and threatened party guests with a knife, a taser and a golf club, according to police.

Hamdani was released after posting $200 bond. He has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 29.
