UPDATED: Greenwich Police Identify Two Deceased Individuals in Shorelands

4:37pm update from GPD: On August 5, 2025, the Greenwich Police Department responded to a residence at 11 Shorelands Place in Old Greenwich to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased individuals inside the home.

The deceased have been identified as Suzanne Adams, 83, and Stein Erik Soelberg, 56, both of 11 Shorelands Place.

At this time, there is no threat to the public. The cause and manner of death are pending the results of the investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The case remains active and ongoing.

Original story: On Wednesday morning Greenwich Police had established an active crime scene in the area of Shorelands in Old Greenwich.

According to First Selectman Fred Camillo, who also serves as police commissioner, Greenwich Police were still investigating late morning and contacting next of kin, so he was unable to comment.

In a Facebook post, police said they had responded Tuesday to a residence to conduct a welfare check on a resident.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased individuals inside the residence. At this time, there is no known threat to the public,” Police said.

They said the case was actively being investigated by the GPD Detective Division, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene and will be determining the official cause and manner of death. The identities of the individuals are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
