Abilis 20th Walk/Run at Tod’s Point: Good Fun, A Step Ahead of the Storm

Abilis marked a milestone on Sunday with its 20th annual Walk/Run at Tod’s Point. The strong nor’easter held off for both the 9:00am run and 11:00am walk. Highlights of the gathering were Theo and Melanie singing the National Anthem, activities including face painting and bracelet making, shopping at the Abilis Gardens & Gifts tent, a dance performance by The Dance Pointe, Billy Blanks Jr. leading the crowd in warm ups and a dance off where pizza parties were awarded to winning teams. Nor’easter Headed to Greenwich Sunday Afternoon

Greenwich’s Emergency Management Dept is closely monitoring a strong nor’easter that is forecast to impact Greenwich and the surrounding region starting Sunday afternoon and lasting through Monday. The forecast is for heavy rain and strong winds with gusts over 50 miles per hour. As of Friday afternoon the NWS is forecasting Saturday will partly sunny with 30 percent chance of rain mainly between 2pm and 5pm and cloudy skies, with a high near 66. The NWS also issued a Coastal Flood Watch in effect from Sunday, October 12, at 12:00pm until Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day), ending at 8:00pm.
