On a crisp autumn afternoon at Cardinal Stadium, the Greenwich High School football team delivered one of its most dynamic performances of the season, defeating the Staples Wreckers 33–19 in a matchup defined by explosive momentum swings, disciplined defense, and standout individual efforts. Backed by a roaring crowd and the bright backdrop of late-fall foliage, the Cardinals showcased exactly why the program continues to be one of the most respected and competitive in the FCIAC.

From the opening whistle, Greenwich made it clear that they intended to control the game. On the very first play from scrimmage, the Cardinals’ defense jumped a passing lane perfectly, snatching an interception and racing it back for a touchdown.
