ZBA Okays Non-Conforming Height: Peaked Roofs at Armstrong Ct Will Be Part of Renovation

The ZBA voted unanimously to OK the HATG request or variance on height. Specifically this means they can add peaked roofs to Armstrong Court’s existing buildings and proposed new construction. Housing Authority’s Sam Romeo and Anthony Johnson explained to ZBA that the state of Connecticut requires that 10% of Greenwich housing be “affordable.” The total number of households is 23,000. Therefore, 2,300 residences are required to be “affordable.” According to Mr. Romeo, only 5% of Greenwich housing is affordable. Continue Reading →
